There are 100 million pieces of litter on Tennessee roadways, and it costs $15 MILLION in Tennessee taxpayer money to clean it up every year.
To inspire state pride and reach young Tennesseans before littering becomes a habit, we created Trashsquatch, a statewide litter-prevention mascot for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Utilizing our innovative “surprise performance” approach in schools, we reached over 3,000 students and more than 130,000 Tennesseans via earned media in our first year.
